Design System
“Midnight Seam”

A visual language for an owner-operated collision shop with a perfect 5.0 Google rating — built around the one thing every reviewer repeats: “I couldn’t even tell where the damage had been.” Service-bay navy, booth white, hazard orange; industrial signage type; and a before/after seam that runs through the whole system. An alternate direction built from the shop’s existing red-and-hexagon brand lives at System B “Factory Spec” →

01Direction

The idea

Every five-star review says the same thing: the repair disappears. The site sells the after — glossy finishes on dark grounds, never crash-scene drama. The recurring visual device is the seam: the hazard-orange line where “before” becomes “after.”

The register

Premium-independent, not corporate chain. The local premium tier (LaMettry’s, Caliber) is all corporate-white; Prime goes dark and craft-forward. Spec labels are set in mono like repair-order lines — receipts, not marketing.

The voice

Calm, specific, first-person plural. Numbers over adjectives (“back in 6 days,” not “fast!”). Insurance copy educates — Minnesota law puts the choice of shop with the driver, and we quote the statute rather than paraphrase it.

02Color

Cool grounds, one hot accent. Hazard orange is the only saturated voice on the page — it marks actions, the seam, and paint-chip labels. Never headlines, never backgrounds. On light surfaces, small accent text steps down to Hazard Deep for AA contrast.

03Typography

Three voices with real jobs: Big Shoulders — condensed American industrial signage, for display only. Barlow — a grotesque drawn from California plate and road lettering, for everything you read. IBM Plex Mono — the spec sheet: eyebrows, paint codes, phone numbers, stats, form labels.

How it works

From claim to keys

One estimator owns your repair from the first call to final inspection — you always know who to ask and what happens next.

  1. Free estimate

Call, stop by, or send photos of the damage. You get a transparent written estimate — no obligation, no hidden line items.

  2. Insurance handled

We open the claim, meet the adjuster, and coordinate approvals directly with your insurer. In Minnesota, the choice of shop is always yours.

  3. Repair & refinish

Structural work is measured to factory spec, then panels are prepped, color-matched, and finished in the booth.

  4. Inspection & delivery

Every repair passes a final quality inspection before you get the keys — backed by our lifetime paint warranty.

05.7

Warranty certificates

Warranties set like filed documents with claim codes, not marketing banners. Terms mirror the client’s existing lifetime paint warranty and OEM parts promise.

Insurance & your rights

Carrier names set as type — no fake logo walls. The statute card quotes the advisory Minnesota insurers are legally required to read to claimants.

Honestly, I thought my car would never look the same again — but they completely proved me wrong. I couldn’t even tell where the damage had been repaired or repainted. The paint matched perfectly, and the bodywork was flawless.

The anti-corporate angle: the chains consolidated the Twin Cities; Riaz still answers his own phone. Needs a real portrait shoot for launch.

The big collision chains have bought up most of the Twin Cities. Prime is still owned and run by Riaz — the estimate you get is his word, and the work is his name. No claim handlers in another state, no “your vehicle has been assigned a repair coordinator.”

FAQ

Native accordions, sticky intro column. Content leads with the question every claimant actually has — “can my insurer make me use their shop?” (No.)

After an accident

Questions we answer every day

Most people have never needed a body shop before. Ask us anything — these come up the most.

Can my insurance company make me use their shop?

No. Minnesota law gives you the right to choose your own repair facility. Your insurer can suggest a shop, but the decision is always yours — and we work with every major carrier.

What should I do right after an accident?

Make sure everyone is safe, exchange insurance details, and call us at (651) 460-9996. If the vehicle isn’t drivable we’ll arrange a tow. We handle the inspection, the claim, and the adjuster from there.

Do you offer a warranty on repairs?

Yes — a lifetime warranty on all paint and refinish work, plus a parts-and-installation warranty on every replacement. Ask for the written terms with your estimate.

Will I get a rental car during the repair?

If your policy includes rental coverage, we coordinate directly with rental partners so you’re driving while we work. We’ll confirm your coverage when we open the claim.

Will a claim raise my insurance rates?

Comprehensive claims — hail, vandalism, animal strikes — generally don’t raise premiums. Collision rates depend on fault. We’re happy to talk it through before you file.

Imagery rules

  • Real photography only — no CGI, no 3D renders, no AI imagery.
  • Current photos are licensed iStock (Signature) placeholders; swap hero, owner, and before/after for a shop shoot ASAP.
  • Sell the after: finishes, booth, tools, hands. Never crash-scene or stock-handshake clichés.
  • Dark, consistent shop lighting so every photo feels like one place.

Facts to verify with the client

  • Unit G vs Unit C in the address (both appear on their sites).
  • Hours: GBP says Mon–Fri 9–6; old site claimed 9 AM–10 PM daily.
  • Cars repaired: 10,000+ (old site) vs 500+ (new site).
  • Warranty terms in writing: 1,000 vs 10,000-mile parts warranty contradiction.
  • “Voted Best in Minnesota 5 years in a row” — needs an awarding body before we use it.
  • 30% deductible discount — confirm MN compliance before it goes back on the site.
  • Mechanical services scope (engine, brakes, A/C) — include or keep collision-only?

Motion & accessibility

  • One orchestrated moment: the before/after seam. Everything else is quiet fade-up reveals.
  • All motion respects prefers-reduced-motion.
  • Slider is a native range input — draggable, keyboard-operable, screen-reader labeled.
  • Contrast: Slate on Porcelain and Hazard Deep on white both pass AA for body text.
